Unfortunately there is a rule that if you receive state benefits as a result of your injury and you win your case, you will have to pay back to the D.S.S. some of those benefits.

The following benefits can be deducted from your winnings

• Invalidity Allowance

• Job seeker's Allowance

• Reduced Earnings Allowance

• Severe Disablement Allowance

• Sickness Benefit

• Statutory Sick Pay

• Unemployability Supplement

• Unemployment Benefit
